Our Youth Acting Class equips young performers with the tools and techniques to succeed in any theatrical production. Designed for ages 8+, this ongoing class offers a well-rounded learning experience, focusing on text analysis, character development, movement, voice, monologue preparation, scene work, and improvisation. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced performer, this class will help you grow and gain confidence on stage. What You'll Learn: Text Analysis: Great acting begins with understanding the text. In this class, we analyze scripts, exploring character motivations, objectives, and themes. Character Development: Creating a character involves more than just reading lines. You'll explore how movement and voice work can bring your character to life, ensuring a fully realized portrayal. Monologue Preparation: Mastering monologues is a key skill for any actor. This class teaches you how to select, memorize, and perform monologues with confidence. Personalized feedback will help refine your delivery and make your performance stand out. Scene Work: Acting is about connection. You'll prepare and perform scenes with fellow actors, focusing on timing, emotional depth, and collaboration. Receive constructive feedback from peers and instructors to enhance your stage presence. Improvisational Skills: Improv is great for building quick thinking and authenticity. Through fun exercises, you'll sharpen your ability to trust your instincts and react on stage with confidence. Performance Opportunities & Feedback: Every class offers opportunities to perform prepared monologues and scenes, followed by feedback from instructors and peers. This constructive input helps you refine your skills in a supportive environment. Kiwanis Festival & Local Performance Opportunities: For those looking to showcase their talent, there are opportunities to participate in the Kiwanis Festival and local productions. These events offer the chance to perform in front of an audience, gain experience, and receive feedback from judges. Flexible Intake: Our class is ongoing, with new intakes every 8 weeks, so you can join at any time and progress at your own pace. Whether you're aiming for local performances, competitions, or personal growth, this class will help you reach your goals. Why Choose This Class? Cancellation Policy
Youth Acting Class Booking Policy Thank you for your interest in our Youth Acting Class! Please review the following booking policy to ensure a smooth and successful experience: Booking and Payment: The class consists of 8 sessions, held over 8 weeks. Payment for the entire 8-week session is required at the time of booking. Payments can be made either in person or online. There is no deposit required; the full amount must be paid upfront. Rebooking: If you are unable to attend a session, you may rebook for the following session, provided you give at least 48 hours' notice. Rebooking is subject to availability and is only valid for the next upcoming session. Rebooking is not available for missed classes within the current session. Session Duration: All 8 weeks must be booked and paid for in advance; partial bookings or pro-rating of sessions are not permitted. Each session is scheduled for a fixed 8-week term, with one class held per week. Cancellations and No-Shows: We ask that you notify us in advance if you are unable to attend a session. No refunds or make-up sessions will be provided for missed classes without 48 hours' notice. Please note that if you miss a class without prior notification, that class will be forfeited. Transferability: Class registration is non-transferable. You cannot switch to another student's name or account once booked. Refunds: Refunds are not offered once payment has been made, except in the case of a class cancellation by us. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
