If you've ever dreamed of being in a musical but felt held back by a lack of dance experience, this class is for you! This class offers a fun, supportive environment where adults can develop the essential movement skills needed for stage performances, with no prior dance experience required. Each Friday night at 6:45 PM at the Powerhouse Theatre, join us to explore a variety of dance styles that are commonly used in musical theatre. Over time, this class will help you gain the dance foundation needed to confidently perform in musicals, regardless of your starting point. Whether you're looking to participate in an upcoming production or simply want to improve your movement skills, this class will guide you on your journey. What You’ll Learn: Jazz & Tap: These energetic styles will teach you rhythm, timing, and stage presence, essential for most musical numbers. Musical Theatre Dance: Focus on choreography that combines dance with acting to bring a character to life. Fosse: Learn iconic movements from the legendary Bob Fosse, famous for its unique style and expressive storytelling. Folkloric Arabic Dance & Traditional Egyptian Bellydance: Develop fluidity and elegance with these expressive dance forms, perfect for adding grace to any performance. Hip Hop & Swing: Explore the high-energy movements of hip hop and the fun, vintage vibe of swing dance—both often featured in musicals. Ballet: Gain strength, balance, and flexibility that will improve your posture, technique, and overall stage presence. Two-Step & More: These additional styles will round out your dance toolkit, ensuring you're prepared for a variety of musical genres. Class Format: This class is drop-in and open to all adults, making it easy for you to join at any time without the commitment of a long-term course. Cancellation Policy
General Booking Policy for In-Person Awareness Through Movement (ATM) Classes Reservation Required: All in-person ATM classes require a reservation to secure your spot. Please book your session in advance as spaces are limited. Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the class time may be subject to a cancellation fee. Drop-In Availability: While we encourage advance booking, drop-ins are welcome if space permits. Please check availability on the day of the class. Class Size: To ensure a personalized experience, class sizes are limited. Early booking is recommended to guarantee your spot. Payment: Payment is required at the time of booking. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and other forms of payment as outlined on our booking page. Refunds: Refunds are available for cancellations made more than 24 hours before the class. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 24 hours of the class or for no-shows. Health & Safety: For the safety of all participants, please do not attend class if you are feeling unwell. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone exhibiting symptoms of illness. Arrival Time: Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the class to allow for check-in and to get settled. Late arrivals may not be admitted once the class has begun. Attire: Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement.
